Our story
Our history is tied to the first product we manufactured—the AG 5050 orange clipper—which is still made today. Many refer to this tool as the “9B Orange Clipper,” as it was formerly known when directly tied to the U.S. citrus industry, which got its start near Corona, California.
Corona Tools began as a schoolteacher’s vision when he recognized the need for a citrus tool that didn’t damage fruit in the field. He thought that if the fruit could be picked with a cutting tool, instead of being pulled, it would retain its button, leaving behind undamaged fruit. To accomplish this, the tool would need to have a curved shape to eliminate stem fragments and damage caused by attached stems. He turned his idea over to the local citrus community and a skilled blacksmith to bring the design to life—and Corona Tools was born.
